Happy Reading!

For a long time now, I have searched for BCWMH blogs that review the episodes of the hit television series and so far I've had no luck so I've decided to attempt to write my own recaps.

Episode recaps will be written with a clean slate. Though I have followed this teleserye for months now and totally on board with the story and admittedly become a mild fanatic myself, I will not let the knowledge of future events influence my writing. I welcome any comments and critics especially with my tagalog as I am not a fluent speaker and only speak visaya and english.

Please do keep it as civilised as possible.

Thanks and Happy reading!

Episode 3 Recap

This is when the story really begins. Maya finally enters the Lim family. She is welcomed by Abby and with their instant connection, Richard has no choice but to take her in especially when everyone is so desperate to find a replacement nanny.

Episode 3
It turns out that Richard has no time for Maya’s explanation on why she ‘lied’ that she isn’t able to talk and instead angrily leaves the room. This is when the administrator/personal assistance enters with a cup coffee intended for Richard only to find out that he has left. The boss of Seafare Airlines comes in (you didn’t see Richard on your way in?) and asks where he is. She blames the administrator for letting him leave, which by the way is so not her fault, and runs after him.

“Psssst. Pwede na mag apply?”

After what had happened, Maya is told to apply through an agency instead.

A troubled Liza awaits downstairs and is surprised to see Richard early. He tells her that he is going home and asks where Abby (Mutya Orquia) is.
We cut to a lone little girl walking around the airport accompanied by her doll. Not too far, Maya chats to her co-worker about her application and that she plans to go through the agency next time. Meanwhile, by this time, a roaming Abby finds herself sitting on the baggage carousel fussing over her doll’s ribbon which is going astray.
Then suddenly the conveyor belt starts to move and this is when Maya notices. Abby, startled at first starts to enjoy the ride however, Maya starts to run to her shouting out that she isn’t allowed there. Unbeknownst the danger that she is currently under, Abbey starts standing up, with a smile on her face.

By this time Maya has already run onto a cart full of luggage and onto a person walking by, lagging her further behind Abby. As Abby approaches the opening of the wall, the people in the airport start to notice the situation at hand and they start running towards Maya and Abby who have already gone around the loading area and out through the second opening of the wall. With Maya shielding Abby with her body, she is relieved and is applauded by the people waiting.

“Baby. O ano? Kumusta ka, ha? May sakit ba sa a yo? Ha?”

Abby starts to look around paying no attention to Maya’s questions.

“Saan ma sakit?”

The guard then advices her to take her to the clinic which is not too far away. Maya picks Abby up and hurriedly makes her way there.
As Richard asks where customer service is, he finds Maya carrying Abby. Thinking she is a kidnapper, he tells Liza and an airport worker to call for security while he runs after Maya and Abby.

“Hoi, Miss, Miss. Bitawon mo yung ang bata.”
“Ay Mr. Lim?!”
“Ikaw na naman?! Saan mo dadalhin ang anak ko?”
“Ay, sandali mo lang po. Baka ma sasaktan yung bata.”
“Hali ka.”

The guards begin man-handling arresting her.

“Please, arrest her…”
“Ha?”
“Manloloko’ng babae yan.”

Maya is interrogated by airport security. She recounts the event and insists that she only saved the girl and she wouldn’t kidnap a child when back at home she has a nephew of the same age. Her explanation is supported by the CCT viewed by Fred and Richard and she is excused.

As Richard and Abby leave, Abby sees Maya and runs to her. Richard picks her up, to her dislike. He does not acknowledge Maya.

“Baby cge, na. Kita ulit tayo, ha. Be good girl. Ba-Bye.”
And out of ear, Maya continues,
“Katulad ng daddy mo. Gwapo sana. Sama na man ang ugali.”

Haha so true.

Richards tells Fred that it’s ok if we don’t partner with Seafare Airlines. There are many more companies available. Fred in turn tells him that a Mr. Shi who he saw at Bangkok wants to meet with him for lunch.

“Gawin mo dinner. May meeting pa ako sa school ni Nikki.”

I take everything back. I’m sorry for judging you, Richard. I guess you’re not too bad.
At Richard’s place, Manang Fe (Gloria Sevilla) tells Liza that Abby can’t stay at home. She is too old to take care of her whilst Doris (Tart Carlos) and Sabel (Vivieka Ravanes) refuse to take for Abby (too difficult to handle?). According to Sabel, she will be willing to resign rather than take care of Abby.

“Then, paano na man ho ako? Ako na naman po ang mamamatay sa nervous pag nawawala yun bata’ng yan!”

Back at the office, we learn that the reason why many people prefer not to be the one to take care of Abby is that she needs ‘extra’ care. In addition to her inability to speak and communicate with people, Abby, forcefully gets whatever she wants including grabbing onto people; including while Richard takes a sip of coffee, she grabs his wrist as he is about to put the cup back down and coffee gets spilled on her hand. She cries from the pain and Richard calls for help. Clearly, the office is not a place for her and a yaya is needed a.s.a.p.
When everything starts to settle down, Abby hands her iPad to Richard and there he finds a drawing of Maya. He immediately tells Liza to get in contact with her.

Maya researches who this Richard Lim really is as she is told he has connections that can help her to apply for a place to become a stewardess. She decides to call the company and she gets connected to Liza. Liza tells her that Richard wants to meet with her as he has an offer. Without hesitation, Maya agrees.

She gets dressed (it’s safe to say that she is not one to go to for fashion advise and the fact that she’s from the province doesn’t excuse it!).
Maya is greeted by Liza who accompanies her into the office. She sees Abby first and happily greets her.

“O di ba sabi ko sayo mag kikita ulit tayo’ng dalawa?”

She notices the bandage wrapped around her hand ands asks what happen.

“Accidente,” replies Fred. “Na buhusan ng kape. Hindi na man sinasadya.”
“Na buhusan ng kape?! Nako ha. Sinong gumawa sa yo yan? Bad yun ha. Sino? Sino? Sabihin mo sa akin. Dali.”
“Ako”

Hahaha! Oops.

Abby grabs Maya’s hand and uses it to hit Richard as if to punish him for what he did. Pwahaha! Which results in a supressed laughter all round, with the exception of Richard of course. Maya tells Abby that she doesn’t have the power to do that and Richard tells Maya to see her in his office.
The smile on Maya’s face when Richard tells her to sit down is priceless but as usual, Richard continues with business and straight out tells her to talk about the offer instead of the whole incident from Jones Bridge. Thinking that she’s here for him to refer her to others that could help her become a flight stewardess, Maya outright gives her thanks and gratefulness. Confused, Richard clarifies that he is offering her a position as Abby’s yaya. With it, she is to stay at his place, with health benefits, free food and insurance.
Maya is insistent that she wants to be a stewardess but he says it’s impossible. They start to negotiate, which is hilarious because as he starts to further list the benefits of the job; her salary will be doubled, there will be an included Christmas bonus and a driver, Maya subconsciously repeats every single one. Ha! Thinking that she has the upper hand on this deal, she accepts the offer but with one condition: he is to help her study to become a stewardess.

“Isang taon.”
“Negotiante ka sir, no? Dalawang taon.”

Beaten: Richards accepts.

Comments:
I guess the reason as to why Richard is how he is, is presumably because of his wife. Without her in the picture, evident by the need of a nanny, is most likely because she’s dead and he has found it difficult to move on with his life. This paves a way for character development which I am all for. I can not wait to get to know him.

It is obvious to say that the plot of the story has been done before. But I can’t say I hate it. I’m a sucker for nanny-widowed-father love stories. I was and still am a fan of The Nanny and even more to the classic The Sound of Music so therefore I really can’t complain. We get a quirky, care-free nanny and add it to a family who seems to always  make everyone walk on eggshells, then you've definitely got a story with potential to go just about anywhere… in a good way.
